Sunset View Elementary School

Hooray for Friday! It’s the day you get to learn more about the fantastic staff members we have working at Sunset View Elementary! This year we will continue to take each Friday to introduce members of our Sunset View family.

Today, we are introducing our School Nurse, Mrs. Hoehne, and our Health Clerk, Mrs. Jenks.

Erin Hoehne, RN, is our School Nurse. She is from Wilmington, Delaware, and has been living in Utah for about 20 years. Mrs. Hoehne and her husband have an amazing blended family of 6 boys (two of whom attend Sunset View) and their Chihuahua Mando. This is Mrs. Hoehne’s 4th year working in schools (she has also worked in hospitals for 14 years)! Mrs. Hoehne’s go-to snack is a mint chocolate chip or fudge brownie flavored Yasso bar – bonus points to you if you know what those are! The one food that she could eat forever and never get sick of is goldfish crackers…and Yasso bars! Mrs. Hoehne’s favorite memory from elementary school was being a part of the choir in 4th and 5th grade, being the in play in 5th grade, and being in the Talented and Gifted program where she learned how to do research the old-fashioned way (before the internet)! The last show that Mrs. Hoehne binge-watched was “Keep Breathing.”

Shannon Jenks is our Health Clerk. She is from Littleton, Colorado, and has lived in Utah for 27 years. Mrs. Jenks and her husband have been married for 21 years. Together, they have 2 children – both of whom are Sunset View Alumni! This is Mrs. Jenks’s 7th year working in schools. Mrs. Jenks’s go-to snack is chocolate-covered cinnamon bears. The one food that she could eat forever and never get sick of is a cheese quesadilla! Mrs. Jenks’s favorite memory from elementary school was when her kindergarten class did an egg drop off the top of the building. She had encased her egg in Jello and when it dropped, it didn’t break! The last show that Mrs. Jenks binge-watched was “Stranger Things (wasn’t season 4 so good?!).”
