Our queen bee Mrs. Hunt has been excited to talk to all of the students about this year’s Beehive books. Beehive books are titles selected by a committee of Utah educators and deemed as some of the best books for students in Utah. Books are selected in five categories: informational, poetry, fiction, graphic novels, and picture books. Students get to read these books throughout the year and vote on their favorite in each category. The book in each category with the most votes gets awarded the Beehive book award for the year. Students have enjoyed reading some of these titles during library time over the past few weeks. If you haven’t gotten the chance to check out the beehive book nominees this year we encourage you to read one with your student!

Especialidades destacadas – Biblioteca con la Sra. Hunt

Nuestra abeja reina, la Sra. Hunt, ha estado emocionada de hablar con todos los estudiantes sobre los libros de la Colmena de este año. Los libros Beehive son títulos seleccionados por un comité de educadores de Utah y considerados como algunos de los mejores libros para los estudiantes de Utah. Los libros se seleccionan en cinco categorías: informativos, poesía, ficción, novelas gráficas y libros ilustrados. Los estudiantes pueden leer estos libros a lo largo del año y votar por su favorito en cada categoría. El libro de cada categoría con más votos recibe el premio del libro Beehive del año. Los estudiantes han disfrutado de la lectura de algunos de estos títulos durante el tiempo de biblioteca en las últimas semanas. This year’s Beehive books include The Great Pet Heist, Willa and the Whale, Ways to Make Sunshine, Swim, Swim, Sink, Fight for Freedom, Anti Hero, Naughty Ninja Takes a Bath, When Pencil Met Eraser, Lift, and The Day the Universe Exploded in my Head.
