Sunset View Elementary School

Today, Sunset View held its monthly recognition assembly. We recognized students who were nominated for SOARing in the school by Owning their Learning. Our Iron Man award, which goes to the classroom with the best attendance during the month, was awarded to Mrs. Kinsey’s class…again! They had a 99.1% attendance rate during the month of October, way to go Mrs. Kinsey’s class! Our Volunteer of the Month went to Amaris Drennen for all the time that she put into helping to make our Red Ribbon Week a huge success. Mrs. Jones from the front office was recognized as the Employee of the Month; she is a true help to everyone in our building and we could not function without her! Our Teacher of the Month was Mr. Tauiliili; he works so hard for his students and is always going the extra mile to ensure they have a wonderful experience at Sunset View and learn all that they need to! Our PTA had some prizes to pass out as part of a drawing for new members and those who have donated to the PTA – don’t worry, there will be another drawing in January! Students also had a guest visitor, Officer Willimas, who was here to talk about the importance of abstaining from drugs and not being a bully – a great way to end our Red Ribbon Week. Several students received prizes from our SOAR card drawing, which is always an exciting time. The Recognition Assembly ended with a wonderful performance from our Jump Rope Team. The performance is posted to Facebook as a FacebookLive video if you would like to check it out. Thank you to everyone who came to support our students!
