Sunset View Elementary School

Sunset View Elementary also welcomes Becky Thomas as our new Assistant Principal for the 2024-25 school year.

Becky is currently the K-12 Science, Social Studies, and Health Curriculum Specialist for Provo School District. Mrs. Thomas received her Bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Biology Teaching (‘02), a Master of Teacher Leadership from National University (‘08), and a Master of Educational Leadership from BYU (‘13). She comes with a wealth of experience, including 8 years as a Science teacher at Dixon and Centennial Middle Schools, 3 years as a district Instructional Coach, 4 years as Principal at Westridge Elementary, and 3 years as a Clinical Faculty Associate at BYU.

Becky loves spending time with her husband, Brian Thomas, and hanging out with their six children. She loves nature, photography, and being outdoors. Mrs. Thomas can already be found working at Sunset View; she was recently assigned to help fill the gap left by Mr. Vandermark’s promotion in December 2023 as Assistant Principal at Franklin Elementary. Be sure to say “Hi” to Mrs. Thomas and help her feel how incredible it is to be a Sunset View Dragon!
