Sunset View Elementary School

Mrs. Raymond’s class earned a class celebration recently for reaching their learning goals. Mrs. Parker’s nephew and three teammates from the BYU Football team came to meet with them and talk about perseverance and never giving up even when days are tough. We were lucky to have #55 Lorenzo Fauatea, #62 Atunaisa Mahe, #38 Jackson Kaufusi (did you know Mrs. Raymond taught him when he was in elementary school too?), and #4 Caleb Christensen visit and speak with our fourth-grade students.

Several students asked the athletes some questions and learned that “ being tackled is the hardest thing ever, and unity on the team is all about “being committed to always have each others’ back—and to always make each other feel important.” They challenged the fourth graders to learn the names of EVERY single fourth-grade classmate and one unique thing about them. They promised to come back for a pizza party when the 4th graders achieve this goal before Spring Break. Challenge accepted!

¡Reto aceptado!
