NewsStudents have enjoyed “buzzing” around the library and sampling this year’s beehive books! Each year a committee of Utah educators puts together a list of the top children’s books in five categories: picture books, fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, and poetry books. These books are known as the beehive books and students get to read each of the books and vote on their favorites. Student votes are tallied up around the state and the book in each category with the most votes wins the Beehive Book Award. This book award is given exclusively in Utah and decided upon by Utah students. Students got to sample all of the books during their scheduled library time and make notes of which ones they wanted to check out. In a few weeks, they will vote on their favorites from the ones they have read and we will send their votes in to help choose which book gets the award.
