About Me

I was born and raised in Southern California. I was lucky enough to have two loving parents and 3 brothers. We spent a lot of time at the beach, and of course, went to Disneyland at least once a year.

I have always loved reading, cooking, and gardening. I loved reading so much that my parents would have to beg me to stop long enough to see the amazing sights as we vacationed.

I married in Los Angeles in 1980, and had 3 children, 2 boys and a girl. I love spending time with my children, and now grandchildren. We still have pizza/game night every Saturday even though none of them live at home anymore.  If you ask me about them, I will always find something to brag about!

I have been involved in education in some form or another for 32 years. I started out volunteering in schools when my oldest child began kindergarten in 198. I worked in the classroom, the library, and the computer lab.

My family and I moved to Provo, Utah in 1993, and my two oldest children began attending Sunset View. About a year after we moved here I became involved in the PTA, and the following year was PTA president. I wanted to be even more involved in school and began substitute teaching that year. After that I held many positions at Sunset View. I was a 504 aide, a long term substitute, and ran the ELL program at the school while obtaining my EL endorsement.

In 2006 I decided to go back to school and get my teaching degree. I chose the University of Phoenix so that I could continue working while going to school. I began teaching 3rd grade in 2009, and then moved to teaching 5th grade in 2016.

I love teaching children. They are so eager to learn new things and show what they know. They bring so much energy and joy to my life!
