Dragons!
We are so excited to see you all soon! Sunset View has missed you so much during the summer. Your custodians have cleaned the building and your teachers are decorating your classrooms and preparing lessons just for you. We can’t wait to start school and have great adventures together!
Mr. Chilcoat has been given a new job in Special Education at the District Office and Mrs. Parker has been given a new job as Assistant Principal at Timpanogos Elementary. We are happy for them to have this exciting opportunity to work with many students throughout the district. As the new Principal and Assistant Principal, we are excited to meet you all, and have enjoyed getting to know many of you. We would like to share a little bit about us:
I am Mr. Seth Hansen and I’m excited to be here at Sunset View! I look forward to meeting everyone and discovering what you enjoy doing. I have spent the last few years as Principal of Rock Canyon Elementary and before that was a teacher at Amelia Earhart, Franklin, and Timpanogos elementary schools, as well as Provo High School. I love kids of all ages! My wife Angela and I have five energetic children aged 3-19. I enjoy woodworking, hiking, rock climbing, camping, singing and dancing, acting, classic rock, classical music, and reading a good book.
Ms. Becky Robinson loves education and has been a science teacher, Instructional Coach, Principal, BYU CFA, and most recently a district curriculum specialist. She’s super excited to continue at Sunset View and enjoyed getting to know many of our teachers, students, and families at the end of last school year. Ms. Thomas has two children and helped raise 4 more. She loves nature, being outside, crafting, music, and photography.
Now back to some additional important information!
From time to time we ask for a donation from you to help with field trips and other class projects. These donations are not required. No child will be denied participation in any school day activity regardless of whether they have donated or not. Some programs operate outside the regular school day and are optional. These programs may require a fee.
Remember that a new application for free or reduced lunch must be filled out each year. Your student WILL BE CHARGED for lunches until an application is received and approved.
We look forward to a wonderful year with you and your children. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at the school office (801-374-4950). Sincerely,
Seth Hansen, Principal
