Community Council
Attending: Karen Phair, Brooke Barnes, Christine Harrison, Seth Hansen, Teri Mccabe
- Safe Routes to School
- 1600 West is not a safe walking route due to the undeveloped sides of the road.
- The inefficient alternative routes don’t encourage families to use the designated safe routes. That is why we have so many parents driving their students to school. The extra cars then create extra congestion at the school.
- New developments coming will increase traffic through 1600 West.
- Plans of action:
- We will communicate the current safe routes to all parents.
- Mr. Hansen will verify where we have crosswalks and crossing guards
- Mr. Hansen will request having a crossing guard on 1400 W and 600 S
- Try to get a bike rack by kindergarten
- Review our 2024-25 Year Plan
