Hooray for Friday! It’s the day you get to learn more about the fantastic staff members we have working at Sunset View Elementary! This year we will continue to take each Friday to introduce members of our Sunset View family.

Today, we are introducing one of our amazing Sixth Grade teachers, Mrs. Morriss.

Mrs. Morriss is one of the Sixth Grade teachers at Sunset View! Mrs. Morriss was born in California, but has spent most of her life here in Utah! Mrs. Morriss has been teaching for 25 years. Mrs. Morriss has been married to her husband for 32 years. Together, they have three daughters and two sons-in-law. The best part of her family is her grandbabies! Mrs. Morriss’s go-to snack when watching a show is Twizzlers. Mrs. Morriss’s favorite memory from elementary school was in third grade. Her teacher and her teacher’s best friend taught next door to each other. They were both crazy and all of their students adored them! They spent the majority of each day in one of those classrooms. One would play the piano while the other led the students in her loud, off-key voice. It was great! (this was back in the ’70s) The best part was they would take a walking field trip to the pool! Their reading program consisted entirely of reading handwritten lyrics on chart paper – a method Mrs. Morriss highly recommends! Mrs. Morriss is so glad that she got to experience a year of school. It was so much fun! The last show that Mrs. Morriss binged was ’Keep Breathing.’
