Back to School FAQs
(Frequently asked questions)
- What supplies does my child need to bring to school? Sunset View will provide most materials your child will need to learn this year. We provide pencils, erasers, crayons, markers, paper, and notebooks. I ask every child to bring a backpack to carry finished work home. I have some headphones for students to use but if your child prefers they can bring headphones/earbuds from home.
- Can my child bring their own school supplies? Yes, If your child has some supplies that they prefer to use they are welcome to use them in class. I know some 4th-grade students love to use mechanical pencils. They are welcome to use them but I don’t have extra pencil lead to provide them.
- Can my child bring a personal water bottle to class? Yes, your child is welcome to bring a water bottle from home. Water bottles will be stored in your child’s cubby during class time.
- Are there any donations that the classroom needs? First here is a notice from the school district. The items on this list will be used during the regular school day. They may be brought from home on a voluntary basis, otherwise, they will be furnished by the school. At back-to-school night, I will have a list of requested items. Facial tissues(kleenex), a package of plastic cups, a package of disposable plates, a package of disposable bowls, a package of plastic forks, a package of plastic spoons, a package of plastic knives, a package of napkins, a package of gallon sized ziplock bags, a package of quart size ziplock bags. Throughout the year the class will do holiday crafts and small projects. I’ll ask for specific donations at that time.
