Sunset View Elementary School

Welcome to our #TeacherFeatureFriday. This year we will continue to take each Friday to introduce you to the amazing members of our Sunset View staff.

Today, we are introducing one of our Third Grade teachers, Jay Porter. Mr. Porter and his wife have 5 children. Mr. Porter has lots of favorites. His favorite color is hot pink, his favorite books are ‘Dune’ and ‘What Do You Do With A Problem’, his favorite season is winter, and his favorite animal is a giraffe!. Some goals Mr. Porter has for this year are to still be standing at the end of each day, for his students to feel valued by him, and to integrate learner qualities into his teaching! A few of his hobbies include hiking, playing with his kids, watching movies, and critiquing magazine articles for the Washington Post. If Mr. Porter wasn’t one of our Third Grade teachers, he would be a DJ or the next Crocodile Hunter!

We hope this helps you to get to know Mr. Porter a little better. Check-in with us next week to see who we will be featuring for our #TeacherFeatureFriday!

#TeacherFeatureFriday – Sr. Porter

Bienvenidos a nuestro #TeacherFeatureFriday.
