Provo City School District

Sunset View Elementary School

Sunset View Parents,

Monday, September 21st has been confirmed as the starting date for Phase 2 for all Elementary Schools in the Provo School District. Below are some important parts of Phase 2:

1. All in-person students will attend M-Th 8:40 – 1:40. Breakfast will continue to be served starting at 8:10 am.

2. Friday will still be an online learning day from home for all students (students will continue to use Chromebooks and Canvas).

3. Specialty Classes will continue to be mostly online (students will still take their chromebooks home each day). In person students should do these after 1:40 M-Th, and when works on Friday. Teachers may assign other work to be completed after school for both in-person and Home Study students.

4. Home study will look different in Phase 2. As we move to more time with in-person instruction, there will continue to be some resources and time spent for online instruction. However, it will look different. Please see the attached documents (in English and Spanish) to understand the district expectations for Home Study. I plan on calling all parents still signed up for Home Study on Friday to discuss next step options (returning in-person, continuing with the Home Study a little differently, or moving to eSchool, especially if you do not plan to have your child return to school this year).

Thanks for all your support during this time. The Sunset View staff is committed to making sure students are safe while providing meaningful instruction. If you have any questions, please contact the school at (801)374-4950.

Sincerely,

Chris Chilcoat

Sinceramente,

Chris Chilcoat
